Diamondback Strikes a Resonant Chord

Diamondback performed to an appreciative crowd on April 9 at the Vegreville Railway Station. Edmonton’s alt-country band Diamondback was formed in 2000 and has developed a distinctive style and sound. With Max Doubt on guitars and vocals, Chef Maynard on pedal steel, lap steel, guitar, and vocals, Deanarino on bass and vocals, and New York Willie on drums.

Diamondback played and sang their hearts out with songs from the 1970’s through to more recent country/folk/classic-rock favorites. Their performance of songs like “Teach Your Children Well” by Neil Young and others struck a resonant chord and Diamondback extended their performance as the crowd wanted more. A good time was had by one and all!

Diamondback performs live at Perogies and Jam

This was the first of several special events planned by Perogies and Jam, as a way of promoting musical talent with ties to the Vegreville community. We look forward to more such events in the next season.

Saturday, April 16 will be the Season Finale for Perogies & Jam, which will be an all evening open mic and jam session. Musicians interested in sharing their talent should bring their instruments and vocal chords and be prepared to have FUN!

Over the summer, Perogies and Jam will be showcasing local musical talent at the Vegreville Downtown Street Markets.
