It was a wonderful warm summer day with musicians performing in the heart of downtown Vegreville alongside street vendors for the last Street Market in 2012. Perogies and Jam provided the musicians from in and around town with a variety of folk, blues, and country styles.
Starting at 9:45 am, local musicians Ralph Lange (on guitar and upright bass), Rob Hughes (on drums) were performing and playing alongside other musicians in many of their performances. Continuing throughout the day, performers included Gordon Forbes, Wayne Camantique, Barb Harmatys (Tofield), Cassidy Zahar (Vilna), B Cuz (vocal group), Leeland Bachelet (Two Hills) and Bob Ashmead. The local Country Sunshine band provided a crowd pleasing finish to a great day on the street. What a terrific way to celebrate the end of summer in Vegreville!
Randy Kereliuk was out harvesting on the combine but first came to town early in the morning to provide the sound system and ensure everything was ready to go. The Town of Vegreville provided the tent, tables and electrical power.
Many of the musicians went over to the Vegreville Train Station to perform alongside the Art in the Park event during the afternoon and to the Open Mike in the evening.
