Mundare residents enthusiastically gave tribute to local farmers at their fourth annual Farmers Day on June 13.
Perogies and Jam was privileged to be invited to provide musical entertainment for the past 3 years. The following local musicians sang, danced and played their hearts out to an appreciative audience on mainstreet:
- Paul Fike – Holden
- Barb Mohr – Camrose
- Malachi & Micah Barter (Chipman) with Bob Ashmead (Vegreville)
- Leeland Bachelet – Two Hills
- Randy Kereliuk and the Off Ramp Boys (Ralph, Rob and Gordon) – Vegreville
Mayor Charlie Gargus spoke to the audience about connecting with local farmers and the food they produce for our dinner tables. Just like farmers, the audience had to quickly adapt to the changing weather conditions. Early in the evening, a couple of rogue cloudbursts had the audience briefly move to the Town building for cover and then return to the street to enjoy the music and fine food.
Perogies and Jam thanks Mayor Charlie Gargus, CAO Collin Zyla, Susan Campbell, and other Mundare workers for providing the covered band stage, the fine food and their wonderful support for the event.
