The Lions Club representatives from all around Alberta, from Lethbridge to Beaverlodge, celebrated together this weekend, meeting at the Sunshine Club in Vegreville. Perogies and Jam were pleased to provide the musical entertainment for this evening’s fundraising steak dinner event for supporting Diabetes research.
Starting off the evening were the Off Ramp Boys (Randy Kereliuk, Ralph Lange, Rob Hughes and Gordon Forbes) with the country song Forever and Ever, and other songs including Long Time Gone and the Pan Handle Rag. Lorne Fill performed on guitar and banjo with songs including Alexander Beetle, the Banana Boat Song and Hard Times. Our young fiddle player, Shade Clark accompanied by her music teacher Jennifer DeForest played several fiddle tunes including St. Anne’s Reel, Red Wing and the Ramona Waltz.
Peter Arnold and Don Harfield sang familiar folk songs including Danny Boy, Those Were the Days and In Canada. Roger Harrison performed sang Romance Flats, I Hung My Head, and finished off with Wild Horses.
Everyone had fun, enjoyed the evening and music. It was a great way for the Lions Club to finish their weekend of meetings and raise funds for the worthy cause of Diabetes research.
